Making ice cream is not a complicated thing. You don't need a machine to make delicious ice cream, all you need is a few ingredients and 6 or 8 hours to freeze it. My mom used to make this with Kool Aid when I was a kid, but you can really use any kind of drink mix that is unsweetened. It is so simple to make, only four ingredients! Make a few batches for the weekend or that Labor Day get together, it is always a hit with kids and adults alike.

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, until smooth and not at all grainy. I use an electric mixer, but you can mix by hand if you prefer.

Pour into a shallow glass baking dish. I use an 8x8 Pyrex dish like this --------------------------> Place in the freezer over night or at least 6 hours. |

If you are not going to eat it the next day, you will need to put a lid on it so it does not dry out. Same thing with the left overs. (if there are any!) This is why I love the pyrex dish I showed you above. The lid is tight fitting and BPA free.
If you like, you can also add fruit, or nuts while mixing, but be careful the fruit does not contain too much liquid, or it could make the ice cream runny.

How easy is that? Why pay the high dollar for ice cream in the store when you can make your own in 10 minutes, any flavor you want?
