​If you have never made bread dough ornaments for your Christmas tree, then you should give it a try! It is a fun activity for the whole family. They are easy to make and fun to decorate, you just paint them!
The ingredient list is very short for the dough, it is just three simple things.

Ingredients:
- 4 cups general purpose flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water ​

For decorating you can use anything you like: paint, glitter, buttons, beads, fabric, ribbon, yarn, anything goes. When you are done decorating, spray with varnish several times, letting dry between coats, to preserve the dough. Put on your string and you are ready to hang! Making bread dough ornament makes memories for the whole family that will last for as long as you hang those ornaments on your tree.
The first year my husband and I were married, I decided to make some bread dough ornaments to fill out our tree, and my husband said that he wanted to make me a surprise ornament. He worked over in the corner, so I couldn't see and insisted on cooking all of them so I could not see mine before he got to finish it. I was happy to oblige and retired to the family room to sketch some designs for painting the now baking ornaments.
A while after the cookies were done, my husband comes in the family room, pleased as punch and presents me with this
