I have always loved funnel cakes. I used to buy funnel cake mix at a cider mill every fall. Imagine my horror when I saw that the mill had closed it's doors. No more funnel cake mix. So, I decided to make my own. I did some research on the internet and tried several recipes with less than stellar results. So, through trial and error, I finally came up with a recipe for a mix of my own that is really good. It's also easy to make and prepare and kids love it!
It is a great dry mix to give as a hostess gift or holiday gift. I've included the dry mix recipe and the directions to include with a jar gift. If you are making it yourself, just put the two together!

Funnel cakes can be topped with so many things. The traditional topping at festivals is powdered sugar, but you can also top therm with:
Fruit and whipped cream
Chocolate syrup
Carmel topping (Sanders is the BEST!)
Ice cream
Honey
It's easy to get creative with funnel cakes, and delicious too. What do you like on yours?
Have a great weekend,
