Trying to learn Windows 7, getting all my programs loaded, and working and most of all, trying to find a way to get rid of the invasion of pop ups, ads, redirects, and flashing advertisements. It was really horrible, trying to find a way to get all the ad malware off my computer. I had to wonder were it came from. |
I don't visit suspicious websites, porn, or anything like that, so the only possible solution is that I got it from "legitimate sites" that I downloaded programs from. From somewhere I got a program called Shopop, that I could not uninstall. I had to download a special program from Microsoft just to get rid it. I ran a Malwarebytes scan, and it came back with 2029 pieces of malware and adware. 2029!!!!! I almost fainted. I was able to delete all of them, but the next day 4 of them were back. The biggest offender is a program called PUP Optional. This is a bad piece of software that can deposit virus', trojans, spyware and adware on your computer, without your knowledge. Every time I clean it off my computer, within a day or two, PUP Optional is back. I am just at a loss as to what is causing this. Is Windows 7 a weak program that is full of holes that malware can get in through? I never had this kind of problem with XP.
Finally, after tearing my hair out for four days straight, I found a two programs that seems to clean most of the problems: Junk Removal Tool, and Malwarebytes. They are both free, but Malwarebytes has a paid version that costs $24.95. I am still not completely redirect and ad free, but at least it is a tolerable level.
My official opinion of Windows 7 is that it stinks. If anyone reading this has any suggestions on programs for cleaning this computer, please leave me a comment.
