Years ago I knew a guy who was (what I then thought of as) a health nut. He used to juice everything, I used to joke that I would not remain stationary too long around him, or he would probably juice me. He was a terrific believer in vegetable smoothies, he had at least three a day. Now some of them were pretty gross, like apple, pineapple and tomato, or celery, kale and strawberries. He used to always try to get me to try these things and I would always politely decline. Or I did until the day he made me an orange dream smoothie!
Orange Dream Recipe
- If your carrots are raw, steam or boil them until they are tender and cool before adding to smoothie. Carrots will cook much faster if you chop or shred them.
- Place cooked carrots in the blender and puree
- Add the orange sections and cinnamon and blend 30 seconds
- Add the remaining ingredients and blend until completely smooth
