I love sock animals! I think the thing I love about them the most is the fact that they are almost always handmade. You have to love something that is made by hand, especially if it is a gift. I keep a file of sock animal patterns, and since the holidays are coming up, I thought I would share them with you. They are such thoughtful gifts for new babies, little girls or boys and even for the elderly. People love to receive things that are hand made because it shows that you are willing to spend time making a gift especially for them. It is more personal. Trust me, I have given sock animals as gifts for years and they are always well received.
This is one of the the cutest and most innovative reuses that I have seen in a long time. What an awesome idea! A beautiful infant's dress from a shirt or blouse.
If you want to make this, the link below goes to the pattern and a tutorial for making this cute little dress. You can print it out on your computer printer, and best of all it's free! The pattern comes from a great sewing blog called Sew Much Ado. If you like sewing, this is one blog you don't want to miss! Abby has been an avid seamstress her whole life and even makes her own patterns, like the one listed below. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact her, she is very helpful and kind.
