Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 ounces grated beeswax
- 1/2 teaspoon tea tree oil
- 1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 20 drops lavender essential oil
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 cup olive oil
Directions:
I don't have a double boiler so I take a large shallow pan (I use Corning ware) and boil water in it.
Mix everything but the lavender, lemon and vitamin e in a glass bowl
Turn the heat under the water pan to simmer and set the bowl down into the water (make sure no water gets into the bowl)
Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until it is smooth
Remove from heat, and add the rest of the ingredients and stir until well mixed
Let cool for a short while (not to long or it gets hard to pour)
Pour into a container and leave lid off until completely cool (I use an old face cream jar)
I made this salve last summer and I have used it a lot, my husband gets a lot of scrapes and cuts at work. I am going to have to make another batch before the leaves fall.
