So without further ado, here is my family recipe for tapioca pudding from scratch:
Ingredients:

In a small pan, bring water to a boil and add the salt
Pour in tapioca, stirring constantly
Soft boil the tapioca for 20 minutes
Drain tapioca and set aside to cool
Combine sugar, flour, vanilla and milk in a pan with a whisk
Boil softly for two minutes and then remove from heat
Add the tapioca and mix gently
Slowly add cream and stir
Let stand for five minutes, stirring occasionally
