Today I want to share with you an easy recipe to make your own liquid hand soap. We use a lot of soap in our household. My husband is a mechanic, and as much as I garden, our hands are always dirty. I don't like bar soap because the bar always gets grimy and I hate looking at a dirty looking bar of soap on my sink top. It just looks gross! So to avoid this situation we use liquid soap. The problem is, good liquid hand soap is kinda pricey, so I learned to make my own!

Since I was moving in the middle of growing season, I didn't get to plant much this summer. For a dyed in the wool gardener, it was heartbreaking. It also means that we have nothing in the freezer to help feed us this winter. A sad situation, but since we now live on our homestead, it will be the last time this happens. One of my favorite things to grow in the fall is lettuce. Since it grows quickly, I planted a crop in one of my raised garden beds, back in August after we moved here. It is so easy to grow and it really matured quickly and looks beautiful. We harvested our first leaves last week. Delicious!! In my last post, The Secret to Making Exceptionally Delicious Broth, I explained how to use a herb sachet to attain a more rich tasting broth. I promised you in that post, that I would share my recipes for making homemade broth to put the sachets in. Broth is not that difficult to make, but how you make it can be key. It is important to follow the directions specifically, otherwise you might not have the truly outstanding broth that you were hoping for. |
