Homemade Crock Pot Tomato Soup

I apologize for not sharing much lately, but I have spent the last two weeks caring for my cats who have been so very sick. Two of them are still sick, but I have seen some improvement, so I am hopeful they will pull through okay.

I have had very little time to do much of anything since they have been sick, but I did make a big crock pot of tomato soup so we could have something nutritious to eat, even if we did not feel like eating. I thought I would take a moment to share the recipe with you all before I go back to nurse-maiding my little furbabies.

How to Make Chocolate Gravy

When I was a child, my grandmother used to make the most delicious thing for us, for a special treat. She called it chocolate gravy. Though she had put it on a variety of things over the years, my favorite was butter cookies. She would make the most wonderful cookies and while they were cooling, she would make the gravy. Then, while the cookies and the gravy were still warm, she would put the cookies on a dessert plate and drizzle the chocolate gravy all over them. Those memories are so special to me, they still make me smile.

I wanted to share her recipe for chocolate gravy with you, so you can share some special moments with your own kids or grandkids and make some lovely memories.

You know the cabinets you have that are full of cleaners? Drain cleaner, glass cleaner, floor cleaner, dish soap, toilet cleaner, on and on. You don't need them. You sure don't need all the different chemicals around your family and pets, and you definitely don't need to spend the money required to buy a dozen different kinds of cleaners. Nor do you need to take up all the cabinet space storing the boxes, bottles and cans.

My Personal Experience with Making Cuke Chips

I decided to try making cucumber chips for two reasons:

I love chips of any kind, the lower calorie, the better
I have a cucumber population explosion in my garden

I did some research on dehydrating cucumbers because it's one of the few things I have never dehydrated before. It's not rocket science, it's pretty straight forward. This is how I did it:
