So many people are home from work these days and they are not used to having so much free time. Boredom is rampant! If you are looking for some fun things to do that don't require going out, I have some great suggestions!

Today I have a simple, easy to make recipe for chalk paint. Why spend the higher price to buy chaulk paint for your country project? Make your own! It is not complicated or expensive! I really love Gingerbread Ornaments on my tree. Not only are they cute, but they smell great! If you want to make some for your tree, here is the simple, 4 ingredient recipe. You don't even have to bake them, just roll them out, cut and let dry! It's a fun family activity that is inexpensive and kids love doing it! I have a cat that is really feisty. He is an 18 month old ginger cat and he is as devilish as he is lovable! He loves to play, but having all his claws (four wheen drive, as my husband calls it) he is very hard on his toys. He can rip a catnip mouse to bits in record time. He also has shredded his little cat house, along with several scratching posts. After a while it started to get a little expensive, replacing toys and playthings for the little furball! The barnwood look is so popular right now, it is used in crafts, in home decor in furniture and much more! The only problem is that now that everyone wants it, of course, the price has skyrocketed! Even the people with barns that are falling down want big money for the wood, even if you remove it yourself! However, there is a very easy way to make new wook look gray and weathered like barnwood. You won't believe how easy it is! In winter, when all your windows are shut tight, your house can take on a stale smell. Odors from your furnace, from cooking, even laundry, can make the air in your house not very pleasant to smell. But there is an easy fix for this! Simmering Potpourri is easy to make and gives your house a most delicious fragrance. I am really sick and tired of the ugly bi-fold doors on many of the closets in my home. The crazy things are always falling off the tracks, or getting stuck. They make me want to scream! But screaming will not get me anywhere, so instead I decided to upcycle them into small French doors. All I had to do was to figure out how!
If you are like me, you have a bunch of jeans that are faded at the knees and seams. They are still in good shape, meaning they are not work jeans, but they are faded from too many washings, or maybe they were too light colored when you bought them. You can rejuvenate them and make them look new again! Save yourself the money of buying new and you get to keep jeans that you already love. Sound like a win/win to me.
Here's how!
I was looking around on the website Hometalk looking at all the really cool crafts and home decor ideas. I do this a couple times a week, I would do it more but I can't afford the time. I could spend hours on that site, love their innovative posts!
But, I digress. During my travels on Hometalk, I saw one of the cutest, and simplest ideas that I have seen in years. I just lit up! I immediately emailed Lisa, of The Pennington Point website and asked her if I could feature her idea here on Homemade by Jade. I just had to share it with you all, it is adorable! |
