Jade's Saucy Stir Fry Sprouts
2 cups mung bean sprouts
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped green bell peppers
1/4 cup chopped red bell peppers
1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast`
1 tablespoon olive oil for stir-frying
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup of Sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
- Wash and drain the bean sprouts and set aside
- Mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute. (heating is optional, I find it make the sauce easier to spread over the stir fry)
- Cut chicken into 1 inch cubes cook in oil until done
- Add green onions and peppers to chicken and cook for 5 minutes until hot and oil coated
- Add bean sprouts and stir-fry for about a minute, tossing all items till they are mixed.
- Pour half the sauce over the mixture and toss, pour the rest of the sauce and stir fry until sauce is evening distributed throughout.
- Serve immediately

Jade's Oriental Sprout Salad
2 cups sprouts (any kind)
1 small can sliced water chestnuts
1/2 cup pea pods
1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
1/4 cup bok choy or celery, chopped small
1 green onion, sliced
2 tablespoons minced pimento (can use red bell pepper instead)
1/2 cup finely chopped Chinese cabbage or lettuce
1/3 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground or powdered ginger
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon celery seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix the dressing ingredients together, in a container with a lid and refrigerate
- Make the dressing the day before or at least a few hours before, the taste is more blended
- Mix the salad ingredients in a large bowl and toss gently.
- Serve chilled with dressing on the salad or on the side.
