Yesterday while working in the yard I somehow manages to impale my finger on a big splinter of wood. After scaring my husband to death when I came in the house with blood all over my hand, I proceeded to the bathroom to clean and dress the wound. First I stuck the finger under running water, gently pushing around it to see if there were any wood splinters in the wound. When I didn't see any, I proceeded to pat it dry and then pour alcohol over it. (ouch!) Then I pulled out my jar of antiseptic salve and dabbed it on the wound. That is when I occurred to me that I should share my homemade salve recipe with you all. Unfortunately, my finger was too sore to do any typing yesterday. It is better today, but still a bit sore.

It is very unhealthy to have mold in your house. It can lead to debilitating illnesses and cause all kinds of breathing and lung problems. If you discover mold in your house, garage, shed or any enclosed space you or your family spend time in, you need to do something immediately. The best mold killer I know of is tea tree oil. It is antifungal as well as mold killing. The two drawbacks to this oil is that is it expensive (about $4 to $5 an ounce) and pretty stinky. (the smell does go away in a day or two) Yesterday I made a post about Growing Your Own Sprouts I promised you all some of my favorite recipes, so here they are! These two are my favorites. They are originals, I made them through trial and error until I got them to just the way we like them. However they are not carved in stone, you can add ingredients you like, or remove ones that you don't. I don't have any tomatoes in either because I don't like them raw. If you do, then add them! I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as we have. If you want to share them on your blog or FB page, please ask me first. :) In Five Days or Less !
Growing your own sprouts is easy and fun, I just started growing them a couple months ago, and I could not believe how quick and easy it is. I also have found myself putting them in and on stuff that I never did before like stir fries and salads. I even have begun tossing them into my smoothies. Updated for 2019 Apple vinegar is not hard to make, but you have to have patience, because it takes 7 weeks. No, that is not a typo, it takes 7 weeks because it is made through a process of fermentation. However, while it does take time, the process is very easy to do, and costs practically nothing and you can't beat that! Last Night I Got Creative - In the Kitchen! I wanted something different last night to go with the beef, so I started looking around the refrigerator. Luckily, I had quite the drawer full of vegetables from my garden, so this is what I came up with:
