How to Make a Small Denim Gift Box

This is a little box I make whenever I can in lieu of wrapping a gift. It's less waste, and cuter too! Below I have an tutorial on how to make this little box. I don't provide a pattern because the size of the box will depend on the item you are wrapping; it has to fit in the middle. You can see in the shape below that I traced out after making a paper pattern from the object I am going to wrap.
I was looking around on the website Hometalk looking at all the really cool crafts and home decor ideas. I do this a couple times a week, I would do it more but I can't afford the time. I could spend hours on that site, love their innovative posts!
But, I digress. During my travels on Hometalk, I saw one of the cutest, and simplest ideas that I have seen in years. I just lit up! I immediately emailed Lisa, of The Pennington Point website and asked her if I could feature her idea here on Homemade by Jade. I just had to share it with you all, it is adorable! I found this Picture on a Facebook Page I like called: Homesteading/Survivalism It really does not take a lot of explanation, you simply carve pumpkins using a hand drill. I think the possibilities are awesome!! I love the patterns shown on the bottom picture, and I can think of lots of others that would be really cool. I am definitely going to make a few of these, this Halloween, not only from fresh pumpkins, but also from the foam pumpkins that you can carve! Yay for great ideas from Facebook! Jade :) Update 2014~ I found a tutorial on how to carve pumpkins using a drill, if you are interested, check it out: Pumpkins Carved With A Drill Update 2017 Some great videos on carving pumpkins with a drill
If you read my post yesterday, then you probably saw the video below already. I really felt that it deserved a second look.
I love deco mesh crafts! I wanted to see more of them and get more ideas on how to make them and what to put in them. So I went to YouTube and did a lot more research and I found some really pretty ones. I also found a few really horrible ones, and I will share one of them with you too, and my opinion on how it went wrong, and what could have saved it. Theses wreaths are so easy to make it's unbelievable. I am making all new wreaths for my house for fall and Halloween. Maybe Christmas too! I hope you enjoy these how to videos as much as I did. The air is getting cooler, the kids are going back to school. Fall has arrived and not too long after that, it will be cold and snowy winter. Or at least it will be here where I live. Some of my favorite foods to eat in the winter are soups, stews and chili. There is an easy thing that you can do now that will make cooking all these dishes quicker and easier this winter: Make a big stock of soup, stew and chili base. Doing so will make cooking these items a breeze all winter long.
